Welcome to Emerson Elementary School, home of the Roadrunners! Emerson Elementary serves students in Pre-Kindergarten through 6th grade from diverse backgrounds, including those served by the behavior support continuum and life care. We take pride in building strong relationships with our community and providing a safe environment with high expectations for behavior and academic achievement.

Reminders

The tardy bell rings at 7:45 am and class begins.  Dismissal is at 3:05 pm.

  • Bus 1020 Route M-26 arrives at 6:35 am and departs at 3:49 pm.
  • Students may enter beginning at 7:15 am.  Breakfast is served during arrival from 7:30-7:45 am in the classrooms.  
  • Dismissal is at 3:05 pm.  Students picked up before 3 pm will be marked as a leave early in attendance.  Early release days dismiss at noon, 12:00 pm.
  • Delayed start days will be announced by MISD and begin 2 hours later than normal: students may enter the building at 9:15 am and the tardy bell rings at 9:45 am.  No breakfast is served on delayed start days, but lunch and dismissal will continue as normal.
  • Breakfast is free for all students, lunch is not.
  • Students have P.E. and/or recess every day.  Please make sure your students wear appropriate running and climbing shoes every day.  All student attire must follow MISD dress code guidelines, found in the student handbook.
  • Cell phone devices must remain turned off in the educational environment. The use of cell phones or any device capable of capturing images is strictly prohibited in restroom areas. If a student uses a telecommunications device without authorization during the school day, the device will be confiscated. The parent may pick up the confiscated device from the office for a fee of $15
