Dress Code
Crocs
- If your child wears Crocs to school, then they must wear the heel strap correctly.
- If the heel strap is not worn across the heel correctly, then Crocs will be considered slides. Slides are a dress code violation and will result in corresponding discipline in the student handbook.
- All students have physical education and recess every day. If your child wears Crocs to school, then they will need to bring sneakers to change into for P.E. class.
- Students will not be allowed to participate in physical activities if they are wearing Crocs, and instead will be given a written health assignment to complete. Crocs are not appropriate for P.E. because they are not supportive athletic shoes, break easily, and can cause injuries.
- Wearing Crocs to P.E. repeatedly may result in disciplinary action for repeatedly violating the physical education dress code requirements.
Conduct
Campuses may impose additional limitations on clothing and will communicate those rules to parents and students at the beginning of the school year and keep them posted to the campus websites throughout the year.
If the principal determines that a student’s grooming or clothing violates the school’s dress code, the student will be given an opportunity to correct the problem at school and return to the classroom. If the problem cannot be corrected at school, the principal will work with the student and parent to obtain an acceptable change of clothing for the student in a way that minimizes loss of instructional time.
Repeated or severe offenses may result in more serious disciplinary action in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.
